In May 2017 a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed to execute gas & chemical production was signed between Gazprom, PJSC and RusGasDobycha, CJSC.
Based on the Memorandum both Companies intend to develop a gas & chemical facility concept where Ethane-contained gas from Achimov and Valanzhin deposits within the assets owned by Gazprom, PJSC at the Nadym-Pur-Taz region including North-Tambeyskoe, West-Tambeyskoe and Tasiyskoe fields within the Yamal Peninsula is assumed to be used as a raw material. Ethan, Propane, Butane, Gas Condensate including olefins are the end project products.
Nadym-Pur-Taz oil and gas bearing area is one of the most promising in terms of reserves and production of Ethane-containing gas. To date, the explored gas reserves within the region exceed 12 Tn m3. More than 15 fields are being developed. Over 10 new fields have been discovered of late years. That guarantees long-term utilisation rate for future gas processing facilities.
At the moment RusGasDobycha is developing a feasibility study for the project. Based on the results, the company will make a decision on the concept, format, terms and conditions for the implementation of the joint project.
